In aid of Mind for better mental health

First published:

Every year, we make a Christmas donation to a charity of choice rather than sending Christmas cards, and this year we will be donating £1,000 to Mind, the mental health charity.

In this day and age, we recognise mental health as an increasing problem both in and out of the workplace and we want to bring recognition to Mind and their efforts to make sure that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone.

The charity provides direct support to over a quarter of a million people each year and their ambition is that by 2020, millions more people experiencing a mental health problem will have the support and respect they need and deserve.

They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding and won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem receives help.

Here’s how our money will help…

  • £10 could help Mind send essential information booklets about mental health to 40 people.
  • £40 could pay for 28 people to campaign for change on Mind’s behalf.
  • £70 could keep their online community, Elefriends, open and safe for two hours.
  • £120 could offer a lifeline to eight people in desperate need of support from Mind’s legal line.
  • £200 could help Mind keep their infoline open for 1 hour, helping 35 people.
  • £300 could support a young person bereaved by suicide to access 1:1 and group support.
  • £550 could provide five people struggling with their mental health a place in a 10-week wellbeing group with team sports and cookery.
