Who we are

ILECS (International Lift & Escalator Consultants) was originally formed in June 1991 as a specialist lift consultancy.

This was the result of a partnership between three friends, including our Chairman and Managing Director Phillip Stillwell.

Each member of this small team brought different disciplines from the lift engineering industry. However, they all had a comprehensive knowledge of the life cycle of various types of vertical transportation, from conceptual design to refurbishment and management.

The vision was to run a lift consultancy company that gave clear, honest independent advice and a reliable service clients would want to come back to, time and time again.

ILECS experienced continuous growth, taking on its first full time engineer in 1999 (who’s still an employee with us today) and launching as a limited company in April 2001.

Over 25 years later…

We celebrated our 25th year with a corporate re-brand which represents who we are, how far we’ve come and our vision for the future of ILECS. We’re proud of the journey we’ve been on, with many of our clients being part of this journey from the very beginning.
