What is the difference between an Authorising Engineer (Lifts) and an Authorised Person (Lifts)?

The Authorising Engineer (Lifts) is an independent advisor and auditor providing assurance to the organisation. The Authorised Person (Lifts) is responsible for day to day technical management, control of lift activities, and ensuring procedures and safe systems of work are applied in practice.
