We’re thrilled to announce the return of Carey Oakes to ILECS. A seasoned professional with an exceptional 35-year track record in the lift industry, Carey rejoins us in a key consultancy role, bringing unrivalled technical knowledge and operational experience. Based in the North of the UK, Carey is perfectly placed to support clients and contractors across the region.
A career built from the ground up
Carey’s journey in the lift industry began at the age of 16, when she joined Otis as an apprentice. By 20, she was a fully qualified engineer, beginning what would be a distinguished career. She spent 10 years with Otis, followed by another decade at Schindler in various roles, including technician, lead engineer, and service manager, gaining a comprehensive understanding of lift operations.
Her career also spans lift consultancy and major contract management, involving overseeing replacements and capital projects in complex environments.
Carey is no stranger to ILECS. She first joined ILECS in 2017 and served as a member of the senior leadership team before departing in 2019 to serve as Operations Director at another lift contractor company, where she managed departments spanning accounts, health and safety, maintenance and major works.

Now back at ILECS, Carey brings with her deep-rooted industry insight and invaluable knowledge of our business. With expertise ranging from on-the-ground engineering to board-level operations, Carey is uniquely equipped to support clients with everything from technical challenges to strategic lift and escalator management decisions.
